Official Last Day in NIE before Practicum
Saturday, February 24, 2007 / 12:04 AM

Time flies. It has been a wonderful 2 years (1 year 7 months to be exact) in NIE. A very fulfilling one for many individuals, especially me. I enjoyed my stay in PESS. I think I have learnt a lot from my peers. Most importantly, I feel that I have grown the most in these 2 years.

My classmates taught me things which I never know. I still remember when I first started out in Yr 1. I was horrible! Horrible in the sense that I was ALWAYS doing last minute work. Even in group work. This caused inconvenience to many whom have worked with me. Especially my Ed Psych team mates, Kaixin, Thomas and Edmund. At the end of the project, I knew I screwed up big time. They did not put the entire blame on me. Instead, they sat the whole group down and talked about it. To everyone, it was a learning experience. To me, it was more.

From then on, I realised that it is very difference to be working alone and working in group. In group work, everyone is dependent on one another’s contribution. If someone in the group decided to slack and simply cannot be bothered, the entire group’s camaraderie will be greatly affected.

I cannot say that I am a totally changed person since then. I still hand in work last minute but I try to keep to the deadline given. Of cos, I owed it to many who have tolerated me for my inefficiency.

My utmost sincere apology to you.

Today after the F & C test, it was Games Day for many of us. We stayed back to play some games because we knew that we would rarely have such chance again. MPH is the place with most memories for many of us. Nothing to do during break? Let’s go play at MPH. Many times, we would just help ourselves to the full-of-PE-equipment store room (at least this is something you will not get in most of the schools out there).

Today’s mood was so different from previous times when we played at MPH. We spoke less, joke less, play more. Took some pictures and headed for dinner. We talked about our lives in NIE over dinner, recalled some of the interesting and hilarious moments and realised that we shared so much wonderful memories.

Thanks, Class of Diploma 2005-2007. I will miss you guys!

Kinda upset tonight.. As I was preparing to go home this weekend, I realised that my pair of soccer boots was stolen. This is the second time my stuff was stolen in hall. I am utterly disappointed. I think NTU sucks! They want people to pay more for the hostel fees but yet refuses to install safety measures to protect the properties and the hostelites. All they do is to tell us to safekeep our belongings and have them all in the room. It is stupid! How do u really dry your clothes in a small, cramped single room?? Blood sucking morons! I am glad that I am graduating. If I were to go back and study as a returning teacher, most likely I am not going to stay in hall liao..
