I shall blog about today cos it was a very happy day for me..

This evening, our PESS lecturer organised a friendly for the ladies who took the soccer module this semester. We were to play the RJC girls at the NTU main field.

Before this game, our team had never played together. Most of the time during training, we would have mixed league and would play against the guys. Of cos, we cannot outrun and outplay them because they were denifitely much more skilful than us. So most of the time, we did not play all out with them.

However, in today's game, my team played more than 100% all out for the game! We controlled the game and held possession most of the time. All the ladies played as a team. Although we were not as fit as JC girls, we were more hardworking.

We worked as a team. We won 1-0. It was really a good game.

In fact, this is the first time I played in a "real" soccer game. When I went in 2nd third, I took a moment to look around my surrounding and the field of players. It was like a dream la... To be playing in a soccer match with a professional referee and kick-off and all the other things u could think of in a game of Soccer.

I dribbled, tackled, made run, supported play, took the throw-in and celebrated with my team mates when she scored the goal. I was part of the team.

When we walked out of the field, the guys were very impressed with our performances. They claimed that they had never seen us play so well as a team before. All the passes, communications and support for each other. Superb!

We were happy too.

After the game, Van, Rach and me went to have dinner. We wanted to pamper ourselves so we had chilli crab, malt prawns and some other small dishes!! It was an expensive dinner but it's ok.. Once a while must pamper ourselves with good food becos we are Singaporeans!

Ok.. Back to what I wanna say..

We had a very fruitful and emotional discussion about many aspects of life. We talked about how do we perceive goals in life, why is there murder crime, past experience which changed our lives, the type of eulogy u want people to talk about u when u pass on....

These questions really provoked my thoughts and set me thinking.

What is my long term goal in life?

How can teaching help me fulfill my long term goal?

How do I want my friends to remember me?

How do I want my students to remember me?

I will find a chance to sit myself down and have some quite moments to think about all these questions..

All in all, I really had an enjoyable night! Although I am feeling physical tired now, I feel content.

Thanks to my team mates who trusted the whole team. Although we performed like shit during trainings, we really played as a team today. So proud.. Maybe we can have another game after the exam..

Thanks to my roomies for the wonderful dinner. The chat was good and it was really enjoyable to hear the different views and experiences of life.

This has been a crazy week for me.. I should say these 2 weeks..

Last week my sec 2 ger having exam, so I had tuition with her almost every day.

This week lagi worst. The pri sch kids having holidays because of PSLE marking and Hari Raya Holiday-in-lieu for schools.

So the parents requested more tuitions for them. I have 4 pri sch students and and I really have a hard time struggling with school work and tuition. Next week will be worst.

The kids are all having exams.

I have Soccer Theory Test. Rugby Union Carnival (Assessment). M & E Test (very xiong one).

So I have to travel in and out of campus! I wish I have a driver!!

Anyway, I just wanna blog about stg which pissed me off last few days. I was totally upset during my training because there were some people who simply do not know how to exercise self discipline and control.

Training supposed to be serious. Yet people are joking and slacking. Some said injured. Ok fine. If u are really injured and want to come for training, sit by the side line to watch and learn abt the game or take a disc and throw. unless u tell me u injured ur hand and wrist..

Training with frisbee, not gym ball. We dont need after-school gym lesson in NIE. Besides, I have done the module and see no point why I should spent my times watching some CLOWNS perform.

Wanna perform go to the circus! Unless u are telling me that NIE Gym looks like a circus.

And for goodness sake, when the coach or captain is talking, jolly well shut the f**k up and pay attention. U not interested doesnt mean other people not interested..

Sometimes, I wonder why MOE choose these bimbotic post-grads as teachers.. If teachers cannot exercise self discipline, how do we expect our students to follow suit?

This is pure CRAP..

I was sharing with Faizal my sentiments and last night when I went for my round-campus run, i was pondering over these incidents. Maybe the problem lies in me.

If I think that I cannot take it anymore and people dont seem to get serious, it's best that I leave the team so that everyone can move on..

Looking forward to the weekend..

Thank you for not smoking
Monday, October 08, 2007 / 1:20 AM

This morning, I received the most shocking news which took me quite a while to digest..

Dad Dad said he gonna quit smoking becos the price of the cigarette is getting more and more expensive..

For 40 years, he has been a smoker.. For the past 10 years I have been asking him to quit but he was so persistent..

It was hard for me to believe that he hasnt been smoking for the past 9 days (according to him)!! So I asked if he was feeling tired and if he had to keep sniffing.. Surprisingly, he said "No..". Is it possible not to have the withdrawal syndrome?

I think it's pretty hard for him to kick of the habit totally for a smoker who has been smoking for the past 40 years.. If he really succeeds, I think I will write in to get him to be the Quit Smoking Campaign ambassodor..

Nevertheless, I hope and pray that he will be able to pull thru.. Now he totally stopped smoking but if he takes 1 cigarette per day as compared to one PACKET per day which he used to, I think it's a big big achievement liao..

Of cos, I wanna thank the Singapore Govt for making cigarettes so expensive.. Yeah!!(not sarcastic but genuine)

Still wanna say this (although he won't read my blog obviously)..

老爸, 加油,加油,加油!

Cool Hur?

Just wanna share these 2 pix which I have taken in the past few days..

I was heading home after giving tuition at my student's place when I saw this..

Cute little thing..

Ain't it sweet? Awwwww..

Next, this is what I have been busy with..

Tataz!

My wrist is quite badly bruised and I think it's gonna take a while before it heals totally..

But I dun mind the pain as long as I can improve on my throws and catches ultimately..

Jiayou!

Oh ya.. I have found the song "Cry on my shoulder".. Thanks to Razif Abang!! Yeah!!

Finally they are starting the frisbee training for ISG..

At least now I get to play!

I felt a little demoralised after the session just now. My backhand sux. My fitness sux. My stupid left knee sux even more.

Argh..

But I had a good workout this evening. 2.5 hours of throwing, catching, chasing, defending and attacking. I think I lost 300g.. Haha..

Now I really need to stay focused and train hard.

My personal challenge is to get into the team this year. I want to use ISG as a platform to test my ability to play the game at a higher level. Perhaps I should be aiming for playing with club and eventually league player.

I think I am paranoid. I dun mind the bruises as long as I can improve ultimately.

JIAYOU!!!
