The jam from NTU to Kallang on AYE and ECP was crazy.. Wonder if it was becos ppl were going to the stadium to support the Lions.. We left at 6pm, went to pick Van's Lady boss up at Bugis and reached the stadium only at 830pm.. By the time we were there, Singapore was already 1 goal up against the Thais..
The match was not really exciting but we were all entertained by the spectator's comments on the gallery. Qiang was all ready with his whistle but there was this particular Ah beng we kudos to.. He is one SOLID Lions' fan sia!! His witty comments are ah beng style of scolding the Thais and the ref were really hilarous!! Even Qiang couldnt beat his comments.. Haha..
The Thais were disappointing in terms of Sportsmanship. They equalised during the beginning of the second half and towards the end of the game. The ref awarded a penalty to the Lions which caused a bit of hooha on the pitch.. The Thais was so pissed off with the ref's decision that they walked out of the pitch. Everyone was so shocked by the reaction that it took a while to realise that they were not pleased with the decision.
So the crowd waited for 15 mins, doing our usual Kallang Waves and whistling and jeering and all the nonsense u could think of. Thanks to Mustafic for the nice penalty scored to allow the Lions a goal lead against the Thais..
We were happy for the Lions. Although many felt that the penalty was too harsh for the Thais and that the Lions did not deserve the win, we are up and that's the fact.. Refs are humans, they make mistakes too.. Just hard luck for the Thais..
