I went to attend Yusman's wedding lunch this afternoon.. In fact, this is the 1st time I am attending a Malay wedding!
It was definitely an eye-opening experience for me and I think it was kinda cool..
There were a lot of guests and the whole void deck was flooded with relatives and friends who came from all over Singapore to send this newly-wed blessings. We had buffet lunch served with typical Malay food like Mee Rubus, Mee Soto and Nasi Briyani with Mutton etc.. Too bad I didnt get to try the dessert!
The newly-wed were not around for the lunch reception. But they came back at around 4pm and we were greeted with the traditional drum sound from a Malay wedding.. (I will go and find out the name of the drum soon..)
The couple sat in a open area next to the void deck, waiting for friends and relatives to "perform" Silat in front of them. According to my other Malay friends, the Silat performers were supposed to be the warriors in the olden days and Yusman (the groom) was supposed to be the "king". This performance was a form of honour and blessing shown to the king in important occasions. So Yusman was King today!
One of our classmates, Nurah, performed for the newly-wed. And I can tell u that her Silat skills can easily beat any of the guys around. C'mon! She was in the National Silat Team can??!!
I really enjoyed seeing people get married. So happy and so blissful.. I realised that one by one, friends around me are either getting married or attached..
Oh no... Wat's wrong with me??!!
I am 100% straight la (hopefully)..
Just waiting for "The Right One".. Actually I think I have found someone but I am not sure whether I am his Right One.. He once said I am not.. So I am not pinning high hope too..
Will there be any change??
Let nature takes its course ba.. Haha..
